課程主題與目標：
文化與支配之間的關連是甚麼？這門課要由霸權(hegemony)這個概念來思考這個問題，並且聚焦在文化生產的面向來談。
課程的第一部份，我們將會由 Antonio Gramsci 的作品開始，重點在於掌握Gramsci對霸權的描述，並將與傳統馬克斯主義如何理解文化與權力支配的關係來作比較；課程的第二部份，我們會閱讀後Gramsci的學者(後馬克思主義、文化研究、後結構學派等等)對霸權概念的詮釋與理解；課程的第三部份，我們閱讀的是研究者怎麼樣在霸權的概念下，來研究與分析文化生產相關的議題。
從這門課預設的修課對象，是熟悉馬克思主義社會學或文化社會學的同學，希望經由這門課，能掌握文化霸權作為一個分析的概念架構，有助於日後的研究。
課程要求及評分方式：
第一週由教師主授，第二周後由修課同學每週輪流報告指定讀物並引導討論，報告者應準備簡要的大綱給其他同學，報告時間約20分鐘。
修課同學需交期末報告一份。題目及大綱 (一頁) 請於期中訂出並與授課老師討論。最後一週於課堂上做口頭報告。期末報告（15頁左右、A4、二倍行距）於學期結束時繳交。
旁聽同學不需繳交期末報告，但其他義務（課堂輪流報告及引導討論）與修課同學相同。
期末報告佔70%，期末報告評論佔20%，課堂參與佔10%。
